I love denim jackets I always have I still think about my Moto Denim jacket from +Topshop from years ago.....I miss that! It was such a good fit I loved and wore it to death. They're so easy and casual to throw on and with Spring here and although its still freezing, who doesn't love a good denim jacket. Hers a few I've came across.
New York, the city of dreams. What an amazing city to visit a must for anyone who hasn't. I just came back and I have already planned my next trip back that was my third trip there and I think I leave a little piece of my heart there every time I leave, I need to move there I think!
It was also the first time we left our four children for a little break away together and we had such a great time. We walked the length and breadth of New York our feet, knees and legs needed major TLC after it but was worth every step. We seen so much of the city the one thing I really wanted to do, so we were so glad we walked everywhere.
It's such a fun vibrant place and the people are so friendly, fun and upbeat its hard not to love the place.
On our first night we literally dumped our bags and went out for beers and of course we had some amazing cosmopolitans in this little Irish bar The Playwright, the barman Eoin was the best. Go check it out for a much needed beer stop while pounding the streets of Manhattan.
Cheers to New York!
NewYork Cosmopolitans
SOHO was one part of New York I really wanted to see so after a day of shopping we headed downtown the following morning to walk around the beautiful parts of New York that just make me want to live there. Pretty little streets with gorgeous cast iron buildings. Streets with those brownstones houses of dreams, cobbled pavements and quirky cafes on street corners I can't get enough of it! We walked for hours it was the coldest day in New York in seven years and boy its a different kind of cold not like we're used to here in Ireland our lips were frozen but it was so worth it we had plenty of coffee on Bleecker Street to keep us warm.
After a cold but beautiful stroll through Greenwich Village and SOHO we braved the Brooklyn Bridge Passing through Chinatown before we got there which is like entering a whole new world thats in the same city its crazy!
Manhattan Bridge
Chinatown
The Brooklyn Bridge only took about 30 mins to cross we stopped and bought gloves off the lady on the bridge as we couldn't go any further without gloves. The cold is a different kind of cold and the breeze was right on you crossing over. Its daunting looking down below when you're on it but the views are so stunning you get distracted by them. Just the whole experience to say you have walked the Brooklyn Bridge is amazing and I'm so glad we did it. Once we crossed we walked down through the Brooklyn Park and checked out some more incredible views and then made our way down to the famous Pizzeria Grimaldis which is a must if you go here Brooklyn is so pretty too would literslly move here in a heartbeat.
Me ans Philly on the Brooklyn Bridge xx

Central Park was our next stop its just so iconic we had to take a walk around even though our feet were throbbing. We walked down 5th avenue past all of the gorgeous shops I mean they really pull out all the stops when it comes to window and shop displays Totally fab!

We walked back from Central Park and on our way we were passing City Hall and there's a little park beside it and loads of squirrels running around came over to us at the fence so as we were stopped looking at them a guy called Ron approached us and told us to follow him and he would show us something that's not in ANY New York city guide. So as you do we followed him into the park and what happened next was something we were not expecting. All the squirrels knew Ron as he had been coming to the park for 11 years feeding these little guys with monkey nuts and almonds. he even had names for them and knew when they were born. Little Sal and Flash were a some of the names he had for them. Another must see if your lucky enough to meet Ron the squirrel man. What a legend!
Here's a little video of Philly and I chatting to Ron and feeding the squirrels.
New York is such a diverse multicultural city all living together in this amazing place including the Legend Ron and his family of squirrels!
Well you can't come to New York and avoid Times Square its hustle and bustle is insane and the shops are amazing I love Macys the best especially for the kids you get such good bargains on bits you can't get over here in Ireland. Plus your hotel usually has discount cards at the desk and you can use these to avail of a further 10% off.
Shopping trip already planned for next year!
That's it until my next visit cannot wait to go back
I love watching fashion documentaries, they give you such an insight into the behind the scenes action. It fascinates me to see the hours of work that goes into getting a collection down the runway from start to finish.
Olivier Rousteing Such an inspiration.
I absolutely love the Balmain designer I would literally wear his clothes all day every day given the chance. His creativity and style has earned him a name in the fashion industry one could only dream of. At such a young age he has already left an enviable legacy behind him.
Hats off to his brilliance!
Bill Cunningham
This gent is a LEGEND I love his story. definitely worth a watch.
He pioneered fashion photography.
In his blue jacket and on is bike, this is the original blogger, an absolute icon in the fashion world taking pictures of women around the world, setting trends and leaving behind a fashion photography legacy.
A famous quote of his "fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life"
Iris Apfel
Another flamboyant legend of New York.
This is just a snippet of a look into her life. You should look up her documentary I think it's on Netflix, thats where i watched it a few years back.
She has an incredible collection of jewelry some rare and one of a kind pieces that would make any magpie jealous.
Legend!
The September Issue
A look behind the scenes of the iconic magazine Vouges September issue.
The Editor and chief Anna Wintour and her team work tirelessly to prepare the most important issue of the year. It also features interviews with Grace Coddington another fashion industry icon in my eyes. She contributes so much her chacacter and personality is amazing to see. Another enviable career right there.
A must see!

Alexander McQueen
So sad that that his life came to an end when there could have been so much more of his sometimes dark but brilliant creations. He brought a theatrical drama to the runway that was never seen before. Take a look a this documentary to get a real glimpse of how he rose from this council estate boy to this phenomenal designer working for the biggest Parisian fashion houses in the world.
Brilliant watch!
Model Shalom Harlow being sprayed with paint guns on stage for the Alexander McQueen 1999 S/S rtw collection.
